As our way of saying THANK YOU FOR GETTING US THROUGH 2020, for the remainder of the year we are waiving copayments for educators, police and firefighters. We can come right to your school, police department or firehouse and hold individual sessions right in your workplace or conduct sessions virtually!

YES!  We accept most major health insurance including: Horizon, Aetna, United, Cigna, Emblem Health, and Oxford.  Since different plans come with different restrictions (visit limits, copays, etc.) we ask you to contact our scheduling coordinator at (908)200-0536 or info@absolutenutritioncounseling with your insurance card handy so that we can check your benefits specifically.

Absolutely.  Due to the current COVID crisis, most insurance companies are offering coverage for Telehealth visits.  We can meet you on Zoom or FaceTime, and we have our own HIPAA-protected online meeting room as well.

We LOVE to come into businesses, small and large, to help your employees plan a wellness initiative.  Often, companies like to bring us in to provide one-on-one nutrition counseling in the workplace.  Set us up in a conference room or the nurse’s office for the day and we can schedule your employees to see us during their breaks.  We can even check your company’s health care benefits in advance and confirm that everything will be covered ahead of time!  Absolute Nutrition Counseling is also available for onsite lectures, demonstrations, lunch and learns, and anything else creative we can come up with together to motivate your employees!

We urge our clients to keep all scheduled appointments and be on time. If you cannot attend a scheduled session, please call to cancel and/or reschedule. There will be no fee if phone message or conversation is received before 24 hours of the scheduled appointment time. If the appointment is missed or cancelled with less than 24 hours of notice, there will be a $50 cancellation fee.

For sure.  Our dietitians are trained to counsel all ages and many of us have children of our own, so we totally get the struggle.  Our approach is informative and compassionate and we have seen tremendous success with our pediatric clients!

“Investing in early childhood nutrition is a surefire strategy.  The returns are incredibly high.  – Anne M. Mulcahy

Please do!  We encourage our clients to bring along anyone that could be of assistance in their nutrition journey.  This could be a supportive loved one, someone involved in meal preparation, or even just a friend who you approve to listen in and pick up some tips!

With your approval, we are more than happy to do so!  An important part of the nutrition counseling process is creating an interdisciplinary team with your other providers.  Your doctors recommendations will ALWAYS be included in your goals and we strive to stay on the same page with all clinicians. Please feel free to share our contact info with any of your doctors, caretakers, or fitness professionals.

Some health insurance plans will require a referral, while others do not.  Since this is case specific, we ask you to contact our scheduling coordinator at (908)200-0536 or info@absolutenutritioncounseling with questions about referrals.

We like to reserve a nice 2 hour time slot for all initial consultations, as we have TONS of info to collect from you and we also want to send you home with homework!  All follow up appointments will be 1 hour.

This is a personal decision and very specific to your needs.  Our mission is to teach our clients how to transform their diet and fitness program to reach their goals as quickly as possible, in as few sessions as possible.  That said, many of our clients will attest to benefiting from consistent follow-up and accountability.  Some of our clients will be with us for a few sessions to just clean up their current routines and some spend years with us, reviewing their blood work at regular intervals, checking in and catching up.  We pride ourselves on our long and happy relationships.

The initial paperwork including medical history and HIPAA forms will be sent to you via email prior to your first session.  If you would prefer a hard copy of the forms, please advise our office staff.

This is what we do best and precisely why you are here!  Many of our clients have overlapping medical conditions, all with different nutrition requirements.  It’s our job to prioritize your nutrition needs and create a tailored plan, complete with meal recommendations for you at each session.

You will leave your session with notes written by your provider outlining the goals of our meeting and a meal plan with different ideas, including some recipes and brand recommendations.  We strive to send you off fully armed with a comprehensive and understandable plan.
